We showcase an innovative design by a gCADPlus user for a food garden on a site some 40 meters by 25 meters. The design emphasizes the use of productive food species to create functional and enjoyable outdoor spaces. This food garden loses nothing in terms of its aesthetic appeal and space functionality when compared to a more conventional landscaping approach. Rain water harvesting, shelterbelt planting, glasshouse for seed raising, multiple patches for vegetable planting, outdoor entertaining, orientation for sun and climate control all feature in this design.
This movie shows a design for planting in and around a site in coastal Australia with a Mediterranean climate. The brief was to design a garden that was not only aesthetically pleasing, but also provided a continuous supply of fruit and vegetables.
