Trim and Extend

The TRIM command can be used to clean up overhanging entities over a boundary. Its companion command, EXTEND enables entities to be extended to a boundary.

TRIM command

To start the command and trim an entity object, do one of the following:
Choose Trim from the Modify drop down menu.
On the modify toolbar, click the Trim tool.
Type TRIM in the command line and then press ENTER

Operation

The first prompt asks for the user to select the boundary edge (the entity that will be used for the cutting edge).

When the boundary has been selected, hit the right mouse button.

The next object selected is the piece of the entity that needs to be removed. The cut is then effected.
